transmission problem
Nissan has known about the problems with their CVT transmission and has refused to remedy the problem. I purchased my 2010 Nissan Murano in November of 2018 with just over 165000 miles on it and paid just over $6000 cash. In late December the transmission began whining and then slipping during acceleration. I took it in to the local dealership and was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced and that it would cost over $4000 for the repair. On 27 March 2019 the transmission suffered a total failure. I am on Social Security and cannot afford the over $4000 dollar repair bill. I have also filed a complaint with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration as the problems with these transmissions pose a safety threat for other motorists on our nation's roads and highways. I urge all owners of these vehicles to do the same. Nissan Corporate refuses to accept responsibility for their defective product!

Nissan Pro Lifetime Limited Power Train Warranty will not honor my warranty. Because I did not have prior approval. When you are traveling you're not thinking about needing approval before getting your vehicle repaired. I have been a Nissan owner for over 10 years, this was a slap in my face.

Bought car and 6 months later the transmission is out. I still have 3 years of payments. CVT transmissions are junk.

The transmission went out 2 weeks after buying car from dealership.they refused to even check car.i am stuck with a lemon sitting in my yard.i am out a down payment,a car and still owe finance co. Nissan needs to be held responsible for fixing car free of charge.

I bought the Nissan from a dealership was told it was in great shape. I was told I had 30 days to return it if there was a problem.13 days after buying car the transmission, left us stranded in the middle of traffic; went back to dealership and they refused to do any thing about it, so I went to Nissan and paid $240.00 to have it checked, transmission will cost $4;503.26 to have it fixed. I'm out a car and told finance co. will not make loan payments. they turned it over to their legal Dept. They are trying to get dealership to fix it.

I bought this car in 2010, new, and have had at least 3 incidents where I had problems. First time it was within a year of purchasing vehicle. The next two times I have had to pay. I have all records that show money's paid and it's quite a bit. I am furious and feel so screwed!!! I want to take this car back and demand they give me a new car! Almost everyone who has purchased a 2010 Murano LE has the same issues. CVT Trani is no good and Nissan knew about it. I am going to bring about a lawsuit.

Nissan is quite aware of their transmission issues and defaults and refuse to do a recall!
The sensors do not warn you and you have no idea that your transmission is going to fail you and go out on you while you are driving which is extremely dangerous while driving on the highway while on vacation at night!
Now I am stuck with a $4100 bill to fix the transmission and would love to just walk away from the car, however, I still owe on the car loan $12,000.

Two problems. When purchasing the Murano the CVT transmission was a dog and no conversation from the dealer when we bought.........at least they could mention. The local dealer must have factory confirmation to finalize that the repair is indeed the transmission with the local dealer knows EXACTLY the problem but has to have factory contact to get parts and apply the warranty. Caused a major delay and cost me 3 days rental with no loaner or help with rental costs from Nissan.

Started hearing an occasional high pitched squealing noise while turning and accelerating. Became more frequent and louder. Almost sounded like a belt issue. Then started to hesitate on acceleration. Complete transmission failure.
