While my wife was using new 2010 Murano, rear view mirror fell off and chipped windshield. Daughter was cut with small glass that covered seat and dash board. She called Nissan service department and informed me that she was dropping off vehicle. I meet wife and daughters at Nissan dealership. Service advisor was unable able to get me a compatible rental and recommended I use vehicle as is. It was late and I agreed. I let my daughter drive Murano back home. Later that evening while going out for dinner, I drove vehicle and felt very uneasy and un-save. First time I ever drove vehicle without rear view mirror. After doing some searching I discover that it is illegal to drive a car without a rear view mirror. Next day I drove to Nissan and talked to service advisor, about how he put me and my family in danger. Wanted to hit him! He explained that he was unaware of state law requiring that cars must have rear view mirror to drive and asked service technician (working on inspection vehicles) if this was correct. He was unsure! After some discussion technician finally agreed that this is a state requirement. I was given another 2010 Murano to use until my windshield was replaced (2 weeks later)
Beware! I later found out that this is the second Murano this has happen to.
