We bought this car in 2011 it was a certified Nissan with approximately 38,000 miles on it from a Nissan dealership in Glendale Heights, Il. Within in three months after purchase it was blowing out blue smoke at startup. I took it into the dealership and what I suspected was the result of poor lubrication during the first two years after the car was initially sold. The dealership was trying hard not to make good on it, but in the end, they replaced the engine. Good on them finally. The tilt and telescopic motors have failed twice, and the dealerships wanted $600. to fix and repair. I have fixed them myself with an hour of labor and $38. in parts. My main concern now is my CVT transmission is now hesitating then launching often at stops, (very dangerous if you are trying to merge or get into traffic). I had learned over the years that these transmissions will fail between 125,000 and 140,000 miles if not sooner. This is insane. We don't drive hard or recklessly; we are in our seventies. I have learned of class action suits for this issue but have no idea if our transmission would qualify. I have had quotes between $4000.00 and $5800.00 to replace the transmission. I feel Nissan has offered damaged goods and should make good on these poor transmissions.
