2009 Murano purchased new from a Nissan dealer. at 109k the timing chain gasket/seal need to be replaced.

(Code0011) Check engine light came on and dealer called with very bad news $2,500 to fix.($25 in parts, the rest in labor) I was very upset and the service manager suggested that I called Nissan Consumer affairs. It was hard to digest putting that much into a vehicle with 109K. Anyway, I was very nice with Nissan and within 5 days they came back with a decent decision, they would cover 80% the dealer 10% and I would be responsible for 10%.

The car needed to be down 1.5 days. It was a relief to get to the bottom of the solution. I didn't buy the Nissan rep telling me that this was an unusual situation that never happens and that I needed to make sure that I use a Nissan certified garage. (The Nissan dealer was the one that diagnosed and fixed this issue anyway).

My issue is with the dealer who is still trying to charge me full price $450 for a tune up, when the engine is half out of the car anyway!! I believe that they labor costs should be lowered since the engine is almost coming out.

FYI: Not sure how to deal with the leaking transfer case, since I see mixed reviews as to whether or not the extended CVT warranty does or not cover it.

Update from Aug 30, 2016: While the engine is out of the car, get the plugs changed!!! the dealer only charged half price $250.
