This is very sad. One of the most expensive cars Nissan offers is this SL version. Extended warranty wanted to sell me a policy. When they asked if there were any problems, and I told them of this; they stopped calling. Also the leather seats were wearing very quickly. I weigh less than 200 lbs. Also I had a mosquito on my inside windshield. I tapped the windshield as it had landed, and the windshield cracked. What the hell, I wasn't beating it to death, I just mushed it.

This vehicle has been out of the sun the whole while I have had it. And where it cracked, it would not have been subjected to sun if it had been left out. I called Nissan and was told that it was 2000 miles over what they would consider to have repaired ( how convenient). The dealership gave me a price of almost $3000.00 to have it replaced. For what I paid for the car that is B.S.!!!!!!!!! Will NEVER buy another Nissan product.

I contacted a repair service and after looking at my car I was informed that this problem exists in both Nissan and Toyota vehicles of certain years. The material used in manufacturing the dashes is defective. The hairline cracks could be repaired but the work can not be guaranteed. More cracks will likely happen elsewhere. The bubbles in the dash were of great concern as they can NOT be repaired and will only get worse as time goes on, to the point that they may burst and cause holes in the dash. The repair person said the bubbles are caused by delamination.
This is obviously a serious defect that I feel Nissan should bare the cost of replacement for, which is in the neighborhood of $3,500 !

I have noticed that the dashboard is sticky and cannot be cleaned or wiped off. Also the dashboard is beginning to crack on the passenger side.
