The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while parked, she noticed that the passenger side air bag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The technicians stated that the front passenger side seat belt would have to be replaced. The air bag warning light continued to illuminate after the repair. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number 08V521000 (electrical system: Software), that may be related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
