The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who discovered a massive hole on the subframe due to excessive corrosion. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased where it remained in their possession awaiting an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred him to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 83,314.
Last year my drivers side front seat anchor/bracket broke. Poor design. Rear sub frame rusted out resulting in the rear left wheel to nearly fall off while driving. This year my wife was advised by a person in a vehicle behind her that the rear wheel was ready to launch. Road salt caused rusting to sub frame body mount. Again poor design and material.
