The car started lunging forward as I tried to give it the gas. Finally, it just stopped dead almost got injured or worse as this started happening as I was going onto the fwy in Los Angeles, CA. I eventually had the car towed. I was told at first it was a air sensor and had it replaced for $350.00. That was only 2 months ago. Now, the car idles high and I was concerned that the problem of stepping on the gas and having the car stall was so scary to me.
I took it back to the same mechanic who put in the air sensor and was told that the transmission will soon fail and if I can get another car I should do that because Nissan doesn't make a normal transmission /or rebuilt one. The cost would be about $5000 to keep the car going-- I'm very upset about this as any car owner would. The car has 96,000 miles. I really have enjoyed this car even thou it has had some strange problems over the years-- I bought it used in 2005. Darn!
