The timing chain tensioner has failed. This seems to be a problem with the 3.5 liter engines. (see youtube videos) and the Nissan dealer said it would be about 1500.00 dollars to fix. The vehicle only has 110000 miles and this should not be a problem at this point with this vehicle. The vehicle is never driven hard. And to think my ford has 198000 miles on it!
