The drivers side sun visor is defective. Every time I go over a bump it falls down into my field of view. When I put the visor down to block the sun from being in my eyes it falls to a straight down position and blocks my view. There is no position that works on this visor now. Its either being held up by one hand as I drive down the road or its straight down in my view. These need to be recalled and replaced for a new model. I just purchased a new visor for my 2004 Murano and it was $200 that I should not have had to spend. There have been many complaints about this and nothing is being done. I will be sure not to purchase another Nissan as I dont feel they care to much for the safety of their consumers.
The sun visor doesn't stay up and falls down, blocking my vision (an obvious danger). This is apparently a very common problem with the 2004 Murano yet Nissan will not cover a fix.
Windshield wipers stopped working abruptly during heavy rain. This was not caused by ice or snow but because of mechanical failure. Lack of functioning windshield wipers almost caused a head-on collision which likely would have caused multiple deaths and/or serious injuries.
The sun visor on the driver's side will not stay in the upward or "not in use" position. While driving it will fall down blocking my vision while driving.. dealership said they are aware of the problem. I purchased a new visor and had it installed at a ridiculous cost of over $200. They said that I could buy a new one or just use velcoro to hold it up. The driver's side visor will still fall down at random times blocking my vision and at times at very crucial moments. I feel this is a major safety hazard and a defect product installed by Nissan. In the beginning I tried to get Nissan to fix. This is a safety hazard. I am hoping to get a refund if it is recalled.
There has not been a wreck yet, but if my 16 year old daughter continues to drive this car there will be a wreck. We bought our 16 year old daughter a 2004 Nissan Murano. The driver side sun visor randomly drops down while she is driving. Nissan wants $400 to replace the sun visor. This is a defect in the vehicle. I have gone online there are 100's of complaints about the 2004 Nissan Murano's sunvisor. I want to issue a formal compliant about this very serious problem!!!
The driver's visor will not stay up and falls when driving. It is not usable because it will only stay in a straight down position which blocks your view as you drive. Currently this is visor is being held up with velcro to prevent it from falling down and blocking vision while driving. If you use the visor, you need to hold it back towards the windshield with your left hand, leaving only one hand on the steering wheel.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the sun visor fell from its housing, momentarily distracting the contact from the road. The dealer was advised of the failure and stated that they were not familiar with the type of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 120,000.
