Being a 2013...the car was new off the lot. Fire started with a small explosion under the shifter in the center console. Physical flames could be seen coming up through the console. Nissan now has the car doing the investigation. They say it could be six weeks before determination. They want me to claim the car against my insurance but insurance says to wait because of increase in premiums could be the result. But I am making monthly payments and Nissan won't authorize a rental because it will imply guilt.
I am totally at wits end....there is nothing under that center console section but electrical. Everyone I have talked to states they have never seen this kind of damage..especially from the high end Nissan's. I guess I will have to just wait it out and see what Nissan has to say. Was thinking about getting an attorney but don't know if that will make things worse or better.
