I have a 2010 Nissan Maxima purchased in July 2012 used with only 21K. I love my car but I am now a PISSED OFF customer. Since I had that car I keep encountering issues and NOW I have a very SERIOUS issue. When I go to fuel the car, the gas spills out and the pump stops. I do it again and the gas spills out; it's onthe side of the car, my shoes, and my pants. The first time it did this, about 3 months ago, I brought it right away to Leith Nissan in Cary, NC. When I explained my issued they pretty much looked at me like I was crazy and I was doing something wrong. I left the car there all day and when I can to pick it up, Donna in the service dept informed me that the tech went to put gas in it and it did not do it, so I was making things up or something. So I was thinking it was me. Well it did it again a little while later and this time I RECORDED IT. I brought it back to Leith Nissan in Cary, NC and showed Donna the video and she was shocked as well. Took the car and at the end of th day went to get it and guess what?!?!?!? They said there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR!! So because they can't find anything wrong, the car is fine. So Donna claimed to have the tech look more into it and call Nissan. I was suppose to call her the next day but was caught up in manay things. Donna didn't call me back. About 3 weeks go by and it happend again on 2/25/13 and again this morning 3/4/13. I called Leith Nissan in Cary, NC and spoke to the service manager Billy Lewis. He stated that Donna was out and I had to wait until tomorrow. I stated I'm not waiting until tomorrow. I explained the enite story and he stated that he NEVER heard of it. I told him that I found NUMEROUS people mentioning the same issue on the internet and he stated he can't go by what people say on the internet ONLY if it comes from Nissan. He also stated that if Nissan does not tell them to do anything they cannot. So pretty much getting GASOLINE ON MY SHOES AND PANTS IS NORMAL!! Apparently the car has to be there AGAIN for them to check on it. This is now 3 times. The customer service department have lack of communication skills, not productive, and horrible etiquette. And after speaking with Billy Lewis he claims that talking bad about the dealership and calling him names (called him a d***e) is NOT going to help getting the car fixed and he also said why don't I take the car elsewhere. What great personnel they have there (extreme sarcasm).

So I got a call from Emily from the Nissan Regional office and her # is 800-343-6913 ext. 458167. Well long story short she is as useless as the service manager Billy Lewis at Leith Nissan. She said since the techs could not duplicate the gasoline spilling out the car while fueling, there is nothing Nissan will do. So in reality terms, Nissan won't so anything and who knows when the car will decide to spill gas again so I am just going to have a gasoline shower from my thighs down. AND not only that, she claims that Billy Lewis informed her that they thoroughly inspected my car twice AND filled up my gas tank. What a crock of S
T. The barely put $2 worth and that was the first time I took it to them back in October and in January they just looked at it. Is that Nissan's thorough check? It's pathetic that a company of that size making all that money doesn'gt even make a damn effort to figure things out. I'm glad that I am in contact with a manager who is at least TRYING to see what he can do.- ananprep, Holly Springs, NC, US
