CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2004-2006 Nissan Maxima has widespread transmission problems. It starts with the vehicle jerking when shifting, & progresses to full-blown transmission failure. Read more »
Maxima owners report spending $3,000 to replace the transmission, typically around when the odometer hits 100,000 miles.
There's a class action lawsuit filed in late 2011, & it is still in the "discovery" stage. Apparently, these things take time ... far too much time.

My AC went on the fritz blowing out hot air. I took it in for repair. I have a great mechanic and he tried several low budget fixes. Eventually, I had to replace part of the AC unit. More $$$$ on this lemon! No more Nissan vehicles for me. This is just another problem added to my laundry list of vehicle repairs.
It was very annoying when the Texas temperature was 100 degrees at that time. I was absolutely miserable to ride without air. I could not stand to continue to ride with the windows down. I felt a hella lot better to have the air condition fixed. I thought this car was to new for the air to go out on, but I was wrong. I was told the entire compresor was not gone so it could have been worst but again as I stated before I did not imagine I would have to have anything done to my air condition but the temperature left me no recourse but to fix it.
