Electrical problems; during warranty period and I had to take the car to the dealership numerous times because the driver' S and front passenger's seats quit working and required electrical repairs. The power sun roof also quit working and required electrical repairs during the warranty period. My car was no longer covered by warranty, and power windows have now quit working. I had so many different electrical problems since purchasing the car that I could not help but to think they wereall connected to the same common problem, and it made me wonder what will happen next. Also, during the 2nd year of the warranty period, the battery went completely dead for no apparent reason, and it was not covered by warranty, however, they towed my car to the dealership, early in the morning, and yet had to keep the car over night. I didn't know if repairs to wiring were performed or not, but they didn't admit to any underlying electrical problem, yet they couldn't explain why the battery became dead, or why it required more than 24 hours to replace a dead battery. Were these coccurence's commenly reported for this model year.

The sun-roof on my 2003 Maxima SE would open randomly; once when I was doing 70 mph on the interstate. I took the car to the dealership after the first occurrence and they were unable to duplicate the problem (see "random"). I called after the second occurrence and they still had no formal knowledge of any problem with this equipment. After the 3rd occurrence, when I brought my car in for regular maintenance oil change, I again mentioned it to the service tech. He looked in the technical bulletins and found that this was a documented defect. I was unable to find it on the NHTSA site however, so I thought it was worthy of a conplaint so that others experiencing this problem will know that Nissan is aware of the defect and can replace the malfunctioning component.
