It is unfortunate that Nissan raved about the paint that they shot diamonds during testing. This has to be the worst paint I have ever seen on a car. I had more rock chips by 5000 miles than I did on my old 1987 Nissan. It had far better paint than the 2000 model and it cost about 12k less. Pretty depressing...and Nissan won't do a thing about it.
I have only had this car for 14 months and have found a tremendous number of chips and scratches from normal city driving. In all of 10 years of driving a 1990 Acura Integra in similar freeway driving, I never had such chips and scratches in the paint. It is just unbelieveable how fragile the finish is on this car. This is especially ironic how Nissan advertised about their finish testing process by shooting diamonds at the paint.
