WE bought this car brand new from Tony Nissan. The salesman said we could charge this car anywhere on the island. Turns out he was dead wrong. We've had this bugger in twice for service because the car dealer was not aware of this problem and therefore we were misinformed. The car was misrepresented to us and now we're stuck with a car that we can't charge where we spend our time. It's not a fit. So it's costing us $1000 a year to charge this car. It's the only electric car that we know of that has this issue.
There are 4 charge stations where we go every day and every other EV charges there, even older Leafs. We are steaming over this issue mainly because the folks at Tony Nissan refuse to admit that they failed to inform us of this issue and are sweeping the problem under the rug so to speak. They sent us to their consumer affairs office to see if an arbitrator would rule in our favor and give us our money back. No dice. They sent us to BBB, and the folks at Tony Nissan told BBB that some charge stations are out dated and that we could come the extra miles every day and charge at their charge stations. NOT LIKELY. Outdated is not the word since all other EVs charge there. Don't buy a 2019 Leaf Plus unless it suits you to charge at home all the time. And be aware it takes 54 hours to charge this car fully from zero to 100%. We would be better off with our old Leaf. It charged everywhere but had half the mile range, turns out that doesn't matter compared to their new one.
