I find it interesting that when I put in the repair cost, the site stated it seemed exceedingly high. I agree and so does everyone I have spoken to. However, this is the amount the dealership quoted me for replacing the engine. They are willing to pay for engine parts, but want me to pay for labor.
The dealership stated they repaired my turbo, a previous complaint, and after the repair it "broke" again and they found it was my engine.
After "repairing" the turbo on my Juke, the dealership called me and informed me that it was damaged again after they test drove it. They then stated that after further exploration of my engine, there was sludge and pieces of the turbo in my engine. They then asked me to supply evidence of oil changes in addition to the ones documented with them. They told me that I was in need of a new engine.
A new engine after purchasing the car brand new less than 4 years ago and now at 64K. Nissan agreed to pay for parts and labor for the turbo, but when it comes to my engine they are only willing to pay for the engine parts and want me to pay for the labor. I feel like all my repairs should be covered. By the way, the total for everything is more than what I owe on the car. When I originally left my car with Nissan, it took them a total of 5 days to come up with what was wrong with my car-- TURBO. Now, it is the engine. Total repairs: $12,668.42. Labor: 2070.00. There was never any mention of the engine before. I have thought about this and I don't believe it is fair for me to pay the labor.
When I purchased this car my best friend got a black one less than a year later. She is contemplating getting rid of hers as a result of what is going on with mine. Oil changes are not the cause of the major issues with my car and paying labor lays some blame on me. And I don't accept that.
