This defective part was most likely an outsourced product. This should be root-caused and sourced back to manufacturing. Nissan should alert their supplier quality assurance department (SQA) if this becomes a more frequently reported defect. I chalk it up to me getting the 1 in a 1000 defective part. Certainly happy with my improved fuel economy after the new unit was installed. This is the 3 of 3 issues that I have reported on this site regarding my 2015 Nissan Frontier.
