I purchased my 2005 Nissan Frontier, January of 2005. The first thing I noticed was the vehicle was not putting out any heat. I took it to Gwinnett Place Nissan here and GA and they told me that the Catalak Coverter (something like that) needed to be replaced. They quoted 2,000 for the problem to be fixed so I went to a mechanic of a friend and had it fixed for close to 1,000. Later, I went on a family vacation and heard noises (it sounded like the transmission shifting - but the car is an automatic). I took it back to Nissan and they charged me 1,200 to fix the problem. Six months later, the problem got progressively worse. I took it to Cottman's Auto. The charged me 2,800 to do an overhaul of the transmission. On May 29th, I was driving to work (I85,6 lane highway, 70 MPH). My car stopped in the middle of traffic going 75 miles per hour. I could not believe it and was scared someone would hit me from behind. I quickly restarted the car and took it straight back to Gwinnett Place Nissan. They said a chip had to be replaced (something about a recall). A week later, I did my research and bumped into your website. I read all the ugly horror stories that are similar to mine. I then talked it over with Gwinnett Place Nissan and like the other dealers I read in the stories, they deny that all these problems are related to a faulty vehicle. They even said they had not heard about the problem at all. I am picking up my car today from Gwinnett place Nissan. I am also bringing with me all the complaints and a copy of the article of Nissan's denial of the complaints. I will keep you posted.
