Yes, I'm back! I researched and found out certain Nissan vehicles including the Frontier and Pathfinder, Model years 2005-2010, have issues with the radiator leaking and mixing with the transmission fluid causing major damage to the transmission and needing replacement at a cost of $5,000 to $6,000! Lucky for me, I researched and found out about the issue so I kept a close eye on it. I would check my antifreeze ever so often especially when changing the oil.
I was fortunate to catch it when I noticed my antifreeze looked grayish in color. I had my mechanic take a look at it and at first he said it may be a bad oil cooler. Anyway, when he drained the antifreeze, he noticed it was in fact transmission fluid mixing. He told me I was very lucky to notice it so he told me he would replace the radiator and you should good. I'm lucky that it only cost me around $450 which is a lot better than 5 or 6 thousand! I'm disappointed at NIssan because they knew about the problem and did nothing about it other than extend the warranty. Even than, the customer was still responsible for the majority of the cost.
NIssan should of had a recall on this and replace all the bad radiators. This would of prevented additional repairs to the transmission which was much more expensive to fix and also save consumers thousand of dollars!
