CarComplaints.com Notes: Radiators are still cracking, leaking coolant and destroying transmissions. Which is a shame when you consider that otherwise, this would be a great small pickup truck.

After I bought my Frontier, I found out that Nissan used their 3.6 cu.in engines to make 4.0 engines to compete with Toyota's new 4.0 cu.in engines. What Nissan cheaply did was milled the 3.6 cu.in to make more compression to be called a 4.0 cu.in. What people do not realized is that these milled engines give lousy gas mileage. Nissan used the same 22 miles per gallon for their milled 4.0. When in actually the milled heads Frontiers only get around 15 MPG. I have talked to at least 15 other Frontier owners and have said the same thing as to their gas mileage. Thay have given ratings as to their gas as lousy, crap, and other words I will not repeat here.
Nissan also fakes on their exhaust pipes. To make them look larger, they expand the exhaust outlet to appear bigger, but looking under further, you will see it is actually a smaller exhaust pipe. Bigger pipes give less back pressure, and better performance.
To me this goes to show how much Nissan will go to cut corners in manufacturing and put out a cheap product. Don't buy Nissan in the future.
