This is a terrible situation going on for me right now, a lot it things happening with this 2006 Nissan Frontier. Since August 15th, the fuel pump sensor light came on and I take it to the dealer and they ask me for $125 just for diagnostic to find the problem. I tell them that they knew this model has a lot problems with this sensor but they don't care about me.

Will never buy Nissan vehicles anymore, not when I know Nissan is not taking good care of their customers.

As if this problem isn't enough, I can't even check the transmission fluid because this vehicle has no dipstick!!! Really? Sealed and only dealer service. How nice is that?

Besides the gas gauge not working, does this problem get worse? Am I headed for a breakdown?

The fuel gauge stopped working in May 2010. We knew it would be hundreds to have it repaired, so we just dealt with it for months. Then about October 2010 we get the letter from Nissan regarding warranty extension for this problem. (I notice that Nissan never DATES these letters they send. Why is that???) By the time we got the letter, the mileage on the truck was higher than the extended warranty limit. I called the Nissan customer support number. Got nowhere with the first person. Asked to be transferred to her supervisor. They asked a lot of 'loyalty' types of questions, but still they would not budge. Even the fact that we have signed up and paid our $99 to reserve a Nissan Leaf had no effect. Like talkng to a brick wall.

My husband really wants the Leaf, but I would like to cancel that order, as I just don't think Nissan is standing behind its products.

fuel gauge quit working in '09. Nissan wants $700.00 to fix. After looking on line, I discovered that this is a major problem in Frontier pick ups. So, in addition to the totaled tranny, I also can PAY to have a defective fuel gauge replaced. I'd like to know how I damaged that! Do ya' think it is DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP OR MANUFACTURE? Just another reason to avoid NISSAN. They have apparently taken a page out of TOYOTA'S playbook. Hopefully they will reap what they have sown.
