I bought my truck new and have been the only owner. I loved my truck and intended to drive it for the next 20 years as I can't afford to buy new again. For the first few years It was perfect. Then my mechanic noticed it had quite a bit of rust on the frame. The last two years after dumping about 4 grand into repairs my mechanic told me he wouldn't do any more work on it as he feels it is unsafe to drive due to so much rust. To look at it is hard to believe as the body panels look like new. It's such a great looking truck it breaks my heart it's no longer safe, The bed was being held on only in the center. the sides bolts had rotted off as well as that portion of the frame that held them. so I was only able to have someone weld one side. The leaf spring on the drivers side rotted and broke off., even my shocks are broken. Pretty creepy to drive seeing in the rear view mirror the bed bouncing all around and the sh*tty ride. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place as I had to take another job closer to home for less money, as my truck was incapable of bringing me back and forth and I have no money to buy another vehicle. I feel cheated. I have owned plenty of vehicles in my life at least as old as my truck who's frame looked better than my truck at 5 years old. My truck starts like clockwork and I believe it would of lasted another ten years had it not been for the massive rust issue. I think Nissan owes me reimbursement for this issue! I will never buy another Nissan as the company doesn't care about issues with it's cars. Toyota or Chevy gets my vote.
