The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Frontier crew cab. The contact's wife was involved in an accident. Driver's side front seat belt did not lock holding the passenger in the seatbelt restraint. The seatbel was locked in the fully extended position. The driver's side airbag deployed so hard tha contac't wife sustained an eye injur and, almost becake completely blind. There was a 90% chance that she will lose her left eye, and about 15% that she may lose her right eye. The contact statesd there were visible blood spots on the air bag where the driver' S eyes were injured. The vehicle will be picked up by the insurance company. The contact stated there was a minor accident about 3 months ago, but it wasn't serious enough to cause the air bags to deploy. The contact has not contacted the manufacturer.
While driving 50 mph vehicle slid on a pile of gravel. Consumer lost control of vehicle, slipped off a guard rail, flipped over twice, and collided into an opposing guard rail. Consumer was wearing seat belts, but the air bags did not deploy. Consumer sustained minor scrapes and bruises to arms, hands, and face. Manufacturer and the dealer were informed of the problem.
