: the contact stated that the brake lamp bulb on the left side of the vehicle would fall out of the socket at random. The manufacturer was consulted, who instructed the contact to take the vehicle to a service dealer. The service dealer would not perform any diagnostic test without charge. There is a NHTSA recall #99V347002 regarding the tail lights. However, the vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN. Updated 7/13/2007 -
A voluntary recall was issued for the lamp socket replacement on tail light. This vehicle was not included under the recall due to VIN although vehicle was showing the same failure as mentioned in the recall. The tail light fell out of the socket.
Consumer received recall notice 99-V-347-002/ manufacturer's recall B0073 in November of 1999, and was still waiting for part. Consumer called manufacturer, and the part was available at dealer, david mcdavid Nissan, 11200 gulf freeway, houston tx, phone# 713-943-4879. Has contacted consumer to confirm or set a date for repairs. Cosumer was rearended because other driver didn't see any tail lights on consumer's vehicle.
