Wire going from sending unit to fuel pump inside the gas tank, shorted out causing vehicle to stall. Mechanic stated that this could have easily caused the vehicle to chatch file.
The consumer states that the vehicle will turn over but not start. The vehicle was serviced and the dealership who found a burned wire in the fuel tank from the fuel pump to the sending unit. This could have resulted in a fire. The consumer is concerned about the location of the fuel pump and the sending unit being located in the gas tank. Heat has caused the damage. The consumer feels that this could easily cause an explosion/death/injury. The consumer request information about this issue.
