I purchased my Nissan Cube new in Northern California in 2012, I initially loved my Cube as it was perfect because I have had several back surgeries and it was easy to get in and out of. In August of 2013 I moved to the Nevada region and started having problems with my car losing power in traffic at any speed without notice. I was driving approximately 50 m.p.h and the accelerator would not accelerate and all the lights came on showing battery, ps and basically a shut down of all power. I immediately put on my hazards and at which time I was nearly rear-ended and killed, I saw my life flash before my eyes as cars skidded to not hit me. I had taken my car to the Nissan dealership as I was under warranty and I was told they found nothing wrong.

We have kinda guessed that over the years of this we have determined that we have bought a three season car and that this seems to happen when it gets really hot but I need a working safe vehicle to drive my kids in all-year.

I parked my car for the summer as I traveled up north and upon my return and the weather being on average 108 degrees here in Nevada I drove my car and yet again it left me in the middle lane of traffic, yet again fearing for my life. I decided to take my car to a non-Nissan auto repair place because Nissan has not been able to find anything wrong with it. Now, of course I'm no longer under warranty and I'm told that it's a relay that needs to be replaced and the transmission control computer needs replacing at the tune of approximately $1700.00!!!! Now, I might add, I have never had an engine light warning or any kind of warning prior and just had it smogged a week before and no problem. I was told maybe if I did the relay for $460.00 that it might be o.k? So I pay to get that done and called the Nissan dealership and they said that the part and install for the transmission computer and update would cost me around $740.00, so I tell Nissan dealership to order it, it takes about a week for the part to come in. I schedule and go to take my car in and my service writer says, let's do a diagnostic first to make sure, ok, sounds like good advice. Well, I'm told after diagnostic that it fine and I'm charged $135 for a diagnostic and I'm told they updated my computer and off I'm sent. WELL I LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP AND HEAD HOME AND I'VE DRIVEN LESS THAN 2 miles after getting on the freeway in 5:00 p.m. Traffic with cars driving between 65-75 miles per hour and the car shuts-off and cars started swaying across the freeway to avoid me, again I thought I was going to be killed. Nonetheless my car had to be towed back to the dealership where it sits!!' I don't trust it to put me or my kids into it. It's a lemon and now I see why they stopped making them. So,someone knows something is wrong and just won't recall them.
