Had the car inspected on 1 September at dealership and got clean bill of health. Two weeks later the VDC and slip lights come on. Took it back to the dealership and they hooked it up to a computer and told me that the sensor needed to be replace (something they said was rare in a 2 year old car) and cost would be a little less than $1,000.00, including the $175 they charged for the diagnostic test.
Googled this and it seems to be rampant in all types of Nissan vehicles from Infinity to Altima to Nissan models.
