I owned a 2005 Nissan Armada and did not have a major problem, I owned that vehicle for 7 years, the warranty expired so I was so confident in this vehicle I bought a new 2013. Since day one I noticed that the transmission would have a delay going into reverse or drive and when it did engage the vehicle makes a banging sound at the rear end. This occurs on a daily basis.
I went to the dealer and asked if the transmission was different from the 2005, they said no it's the same transmission. I explained my problem and they, Executive Nissan in North Haven, Ct. said leave the vehicle and we will check it out. Went to pick up the vehicle the next day and they said they could not duplicate the problem and there were no error codes. Since then the vehicle has been in the shop 5 times with the last being the vehicle would not shift into reverse, the shifter went into reverse but the tranny was in neutral. I immediately brought the vehicle to Middletown Nissan in Middletown, Ct. and left the vehicle again, and again I was told there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. They said wait until it happens again. I said that will happen again when my boat is in the water and I cannot back up to pick the boat up.
So getting back at the North Haven dealer on my second complaint, I seen that they has a 2013 Armada on the lot, I asked the salesman for the keys for this vehicle which they gave me no problem, I started this new vehicle and then took it around the lot and the tranny was perfect, I then explained this to the service manager and he did not want to compare the two differences from the new lot vehicle and mine. So the next step is I am waiting for a call from Nissan Motor Corp, if I get no results there I am going to check the Lemon Laws here in Connecticut.
