Letter from senator schumer on behalf of constituent re 2010 Nissan Armada SE active recall. The consumer stated when he/she put the vehicle in reverse, the transmission changed hard, then the vdc off, brake, and slip lights illuminated. When the consumer put the vehicle in drive, and accelerated, the vehicle took off with more torque than it normally did. Upon trying to stop, the brakes went spongy, and came to a smooth stop, with the brake pedal all the way to the floor.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked the vehicle was on and the transmission shifted out of gear independently. The vehicle then crashed into another parked vehicle while the gear shift lever was stuck in the park position. When the passenger exit the front passenger's side they were struck by the front door as the vehicle rolled. The passenger sustained injuries to the shoulder and left knee.
