I just bought this 2016 Altima 2 months ago, certified from the dealer for a 7 years/100K Powertrain warranty. I really liked it until a couple of days ago when the car started shaking and vibrating. It happened a couple of times and I attributed it to a bumpy road. Yesterday when I drove, it started shaking and vibrating when I got over 40 MPH. I drove it again a couple of hours later when I was on my way to the dealer and it was heavily vibrating at 20 MPH and was not speeding up even though I was stepping on the gas pedal. It felt like it kept trying to switch gears and couldn't. I was only a few miles from my dealer and luckily I made it.

My dealer called me this afternoon and told me it was diagnosed with code F17FO for a transmission sub assembly. They ordered the part and hopefully will be ready in a few days. I was told it is 100% covered under the warranty. (Thank God.) After this I wish I purchased the extended warranty that covers the rest of the car. If I knew about this site prior to purchasing I would not have bought it. I will update when I get the car back.

The 2016 Nissan shut down in 8 lanes of traffic, causing my wife to have chest pains from traffic almost killing us. We barely made it out of this horrible day. The bottom line is this, I spent my entire savings on this car and now I'm broke, with no more cash to spend. This problem should have been taken care of before we almost lost our lives. I worked very hard for my money, only to experience the worst day of my life. A transfer truck nearly ran over and killed us.

I purchased a 2016 Nissan Altima SR in September of 2016. The transmission on the car is already having issues with less then 18,000 miles on the vehicle and less then 1 year on the road.

  • CVT transmission

Brand new 2016 Nissan Altima purchased end of November. No vibration or shuddering until beginning of Feb 2017. Have had it at two different Nissan dealerships and they agree they feel the vibration and shudder but state there is nothing wrong with vehicle and that it's normal even though it didn't do it the first 2 months or so. They state that it is the CVT. Beautiful car but the ride is no longer smooth and it is quite annoying. Nissan needs to discontinue cvt and go back to regular old fashioned transmissions.

Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 5 miles

Car was purchased on a Friday at Tom Hesser Nissan and I returned it on Monday, told the salesman the car had a vibration and requested refund, the salesman told me the manager wasn't available and sent the car to the shop. The car was returned to me and was told that the slight vibration was normal for that transmission. Since that time I have taken the car back several times and even took it to different dealer.

Still 14 Months later and only 7000 miles on the car as I have no desire to drive it.
