I called Nissan company to report CVT problem, was told it is not warranty ( I did not buy extend warranty). The warranty ended at 60,000 Miles, so I would have to pay it from my pocket. The Robbins Nissan dealer gave me the cost of 4920 to repair CVT ( replace CVT is cheaper than repair ) I used to own a Nissan Frontier, 2000 model and it was good. I thought Nissan is good brand, now I am regretting it. This will be the last Nissan car in my life.
Purchased a certified used 2016 Nissan Altima one year ago. Yesterday it started bucking, hesitating when accelerating no power. It was very nerve wracking because my drive from work is all highway. Took it back to the dealership I purchased from and said I need a new transmission and because I am under 60k miles it is covered. This is bullshit with all the complaints and repairs there is not a recall. I will not be keeping this car nor would I ever purchase another Nissan again.
Really sucks, purchase car brand new off the Nissan lot Altima SR 2016. Little did I know that the CVT Transmission is the worst piece of crap on the market today. I still own on the note and due to mileage no longer under manufacturer or extended warranty. I have been searching the internet to determine if Nissan place any kind of extension on my Altima SR 2016 so far no luck. Having CVT Transmission replaced. Well not replaced, what the mechanic does is pull out the transmission casing and replaces all the pulleys, belt and pump. The total cost parts and labor including tax $2,800. Long story short if you own any make model car that uses a CVT transmission buy an extended warranty over the one you currently have. Protect your wallet.
Lastly, if you are thinking of buying a new, used car definitely stay away from any car with a CVT Transmission. From what my mechanic has explained to me the CVT Transmission is the worse think on the market. Just do your research if you are thinking of buying a model car with a CVT Transmission. So far all the research I have done the CVT Transmission is just bad, You'll save yourself a sh*t load of money and headaches if you stay away from the CVT Transmission.
I got this vehicle in Feb of 2018. No reported wrecks on the vehicle. All maintenance done on time from the time I bought it to now(nov 2018). My car started slipping while driving, then jerking anything over 50 mph. I was driving one Sunday morning to work and the car jerked and shut off, wouldn't allow any acceleration. I got it to the shop they say I need a new transmission. I've on had this car for 8 months, and of course it's over warranty. 68k miles. Just found out that there is a law suit against Nissan for the CVT issues from 2013-2018 Altimas'.
