I was driving my son home from his college class one evening and all of a sudden my car started jerking. First it was a small jerk then it started getting worse. By the time I got home, it was going really slow like it didn’t want to go no matter how hard I pressed the gas. Then while braking, it was like they were about to lock. Thankfully I was able to get it in the yard. I called roadside & they towed it to the Nissan dealership I use. A week later, they called letting me know it was related to the transmission. A week and one day later, I’m still waiting on my car. Ugh.

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima with 55,303 miles. Religiously have it service, so it makes no sense why it’s having these kind of problems. Thank God I have extended warranty, but it is about to end. I’m afraid with all the complaints I have read about this car since I had problems with mines, it will happen again after my warranty ends which will be soon.

Just a side note: I got this car brand new in 2016 with only 10 miles on it

Altima SL 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

I was turning left at a busy intersection, when I pushed on the gas the RPM's went really high but the car wouldn't move, after about 10 seconds the car started to move very slowly and then took off really fast.

I took the car back to the dealership they drove my car for 30 miles to see if my car would do the same thing for them and ran test but no codes came back. They told me they couldn't find anything wrong and to bring it back right away if it happened again.

Now I am going through the same thing again and the dealership has had my car for 3 days and still can't find anything wrong. I feel very unsafe driving this car.

Altima SV

The problem I continue to have with my vehicle is no acceleration after the car comes to a complete stop and yes the car is in Drive. The car will not accelerate when you press the gas and the rpm's will go pass 5 and the car DOES NOT MOVE !!!!

Took the car to the Nissan dealership and they claimed to replaced a sensor that would resolve the issue and no the problem still continues.

This is a manufacture issue because my mother has a 2016 Altima SL and now her vehicle is also having the same issue .

Sadly because this issue I was involved in a very harsh accident because the car would NOT GO when pressing the gas, so I was hit by another vehicle who failed to yield!

THANK YOU NISSAN!!!!!! This will be the last Nissan I own.
