I have had no major problems until yesterday. I pulled the car into my driveway, placed in park and got out of car. When I closed the door, I realized the engine was still running. So I opened the door and leaned in to push shut off button. At that time the car started back down my driveway with me caught between the door and the body of the car. I ran backwards trying to get out of door and finally freed myself but car kept running until it went up onto a flower and tree island which was trimmed with blue stone and hit into a few shrubs and a large rock and it finally stopped. I live in a condo community and some of my neighbors ran over to see if I was OK.
I still cannot imagine how the car could go into a gear just by using the off button.
It was reported to the Dealership in Riverhead, NY and an appointment was made for them to check it out on July 12.
Once or twice, my husband exited the car without pushing off button, since the car runs quietly. We never had this problem and I never want to again. Please let me know your thoughts on this matter.
