The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle had randomly experienced speed reduction, jerking, stalling, and excessive fuel consumption. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who replaced the battery and alternator, but the failure continued to occur. A second independent mechanic examined the vehicle and diagnosed that the fuel system was faulty. No further information was available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 200,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that when attempting to drive the vehicle, the key fob failed to start the engine. In addition, the contact stated that odor of fuel and antifreeze emitted inside the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to clay Nissan dealer, in norwood, MA where the technician told the contact "we do not wanted to see your face around here again.' The vehicle was not repaired and no further assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,108.
