A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

NOTICED RUST ON TRUNK LID ON BOTTOM OF METAL THAT HOLDS THE LATCH THAT OPENS THE TRUNK, THERE WAS ALSO MICRO PAINT BUBBLES THAT HAD POPPED AND STARTED TO RUST. I TOOK IT TO HE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY GAVE ME A 1 800 NUMBER WHICH I CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY IT WAS COVERED AND THEY WOULD FIX IT, AND THERE WAS ALSO A TRANSMISSION PROGRAM ISSUE TO BE DONE AS WELL. THEY SENT ME TWO EMAILS WHICH I FORWARDED TO DEALER. OF COURSE THEY LOST IT BY THE TIME I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THEM TO FIX IT. WHEN THEY WENT TO OPEN THE HOOD THEY COULD NOT OPEN IT. AND COULD NOT REACH THE CORD, I CALLED THE 1800 NUMBER SINCE NISSAN HAS HAD MANY RECALLS ON HOOD LATCH ISSUES, BUT THEY TOLD MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT COVERED. THE DEALER CALLED AND SAID THEY HAD TO BREAK THE GRILL ON MY CAR TO GET TO THE CORD TO OPEN THE HOOD, SO FAR IT WAS GOING TO COST 200.00 FOR A NEW CORD, AND 500,00 FOR A GRILL, GOD KNOWS WHAT FOR AN OIL CHANGE BECAUSE WHO KNOWS HOW LONG THE HOOD HAS BEEN BROKEN..SO I JUST TOLD HIM TO DO WHAT HE NEEDED TO DO. HE CALLED BACK AND TOLD ME THAT THE HOOD LATCH WAS BROKEN IN THE SAME MANOR AND THE RECALLED LATCH'S, I ASKED HIM TO SAVE THE PARTS FOR ME, SO I CAN CALL NISSAN AGAIN.

I REALLY LIKED THIS CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT I SURE AM RETHINKING MY CHOICE, IN ALL MY YEARS OF OWNING FORDS I'VE NEVER HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS FOR STUPID THINGS.

Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission

rust on both dog legs at the rear door jambs

Nissan is currently saying that the rust is due to stone chips. Both of the upper portions of the rocker panels and doglegs are exposed. The door is not flush like most Altimas. So far I'm dealing with both the dealership and Nissan North America.
