Altima 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,980 miles

The driver side coil spring broke. I have never had one of these fail on a vehicle. This vehicle is only 4 years old, only 45000 miles on it, and the coil spring breaks. This is about 3/8 inch steel that breaks, this is a defect in material. We are very fortunate to not driving on the highway as this thing snaps and lets loose. I saw the recent recall of the coil spring for the Nissan Versa, and figured it must be the same manufacturer. I will count the days until the passenger side spring snaps too. This should have been covered under the vehicle warranty, and it was not. I will not buy a Nissan again, because this is unsafe.
