My 2014 Nissan Altima headlights are absolutely horrible! There is no way anyone can see with these headlights at night, and are a huge safety concern. I have replaced the headlight bulbs twice, and once again with very expensive LED bulbs. I thought, this would make a difference, but to my surprise, they haven't changed at all. I am very frustrated with Nissan as they fail to address there failure to make quality headlights, and that there headlights make for a huge safety concern. I have also tried angling them up, thinking maybe they ere just pointed to the ground to much, but still nothing. I will NEVER give another penny to Nissan, between my transmission that went out at 45,000 miles, my airbags not working, and now these headlights... I've had it! Why would anyone buy from a manufacturer that wont own up to their mistakes? They shouldn't!

Altima LS

When my lights are on low beam it is impossible to see. I have had the lights bulbs changed and the Nissan Dealership and nothing helps. I got to looking on Google and seem that this is major problems with these cars and it mega bucks to fix . I don't have that kind of money and if i had been aware of it i would not have bought a Nissan. This is a very dangerous problem and could result in death if not taken care of. When you put the lights on low beam it goes completely dark and you basically have to stop in the middle of the road till the on coming car passes to see anything. I would not recommend this car to anyone. Very Dangerous!!!

My headlight is really bad at night, very dim and hazy. We can not see anything, really dangerous. I've seen a lot of reviews with the same problem and Nissan said they won't do anything. This is definitely a major safety problem.

Altima S 2.6L

This drivers-side low-beam very low illumination was discovered in 2017 after replacing a low-beam lamp. From the day I took delivery, I felt the light level was low. When the drivers-side lamp was replaced, I was standing in front of the headlight and noticed no beam was illuminating on my shirt at all. I moved to the passenger-side headlight and a beam illuminated on my shirt. Then it was too late to go to Headquarters Nissan in Columbus, GA for replacement. I have been driving with the high-beam on when driving at night. I would like to see Nissan USA to recall this year and correct the problem. Great car outside of this low-beam design flaw.

The low beams on this car are beyond worthless. If you're driving anywhere that doesn't have streetlamps you're basically driving blind unless you turn on the high beams. I've pissed off enough drivers driving with my high beams on because that's the only way I can see on rural roads. I switched out the OEM lights with the much brighter LEDs and that did not help either. I haven't taken it to the Nissan dealer because from my Internet search it doesn't do any good. They know they have a problem, but they expect you to fork over $$$$ to have you fix their screw up. This will be the only time I will have to get rid of a car because of headlights and you can bet I won't get another Nissan product.

I understand that really dim headlights are an issue with Nissan Altimas, especially 2013 - 2014 models. I also understand Nissan will fix it for about $1000.00!!! As this is a real safety issue to drivers, their passengers and potential pedestrians Nissan should fix this for no cost to owners of these car experiencing this issue.

Unless Nissan repairs this problem, I'll never buy or recommend ANY Nissan again.

This is a true safety issue and I also encourage all who are having this problem to contact the National Highway Safety Administration at; www.nhsa.gov, and file a complaint. Do this ASAP. Together we can get the HNSA to force Nissan into correcting this problem of their doing.

Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 61,800 miles

Just bought a 2014 Altima SV. On my drive home, I noticed I couldn't see the road. I turned the light switch on and off several times and even pulled over to make sure the bulbs were working. Even my parking lights, the amber ones, are brighter on the road than the low beams! I thought it was just me. Literally, a lighter's flame would be brighter than my low beams.

I'm going to take the car to the dealer today and see what they say. From what I've seen today, this is a huge and widespread problem. Not sure if there is a way to repair or clean the burned up film on the projector lens on the inside. Seems like a replacement would be the only solutions if it can't be cleaned.

Altima S 2.5L

The headlights are barely visible on low beam and new bulbs will not fix the problem. I spoke with someone at the Nissan dealership and they know this is a common problem but apparently Nissan has not issued a recall. This is a very real safety issue for the driver, as it is virtually impossible to drive at night. Not only can you not see the road but you cannot see anything that might be in front of you (pedestrians, animals, hazards, etc.). Hoping Nissan will step up and acknowledge this problem soon.

Altima SV 2.5L 4cy

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

Nissan dealerships estimate repair to be approx. $1000.00. This is excessive since this has been a Nissan production problem on the Altima for a number of years,. 2013, 2014, 2015, etc. It appears replacing the existing bulbs with different bulbs regardless of the type or quality does not work. The only legitimate resolution to the problem seems to be, order a different headlight assembly.

I would appreciate any suggestions. This is a dangerous situation when driving at night!!
