The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the hood opened by wind flow. The contact stated that the hood latches and the frame under the windshield had been crimped and bent by the hood. The contact had taken the vehicle to fred anderson Nissan of raleigh (9225 glenwood ave, raleigh, nc 27617) twice to have both door latches replaced under warranty. The contact stated that the dealer acknowledged that there was a failure with the door latches however, a recall was not placed on the vehicle for the door latches. A mechanic explained to the contact that the two clips inside the door loosened over time which caused the door latches to become defective. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a defective transmission pressure sensor switch. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who cleared the check engine warning light and informed her that the vehicle was still under warranty. The vehicle was then taken to Nissan of St. Augustine (2755 us-1, St. Augustine, fl 32086) and she was informed that since the check engine was not illuminated, the mechanic was unable to perform any repairs to the vehicle. The contact left the vehicle in the possession of the dealer for a few days however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer returned the vehicle to the contact and informed her to return the vehicle once the check engine warning light reappeared. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.
