CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.
Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.
Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

Noticed uneven tread wear on the front left wheel. It was worn much more than any of the other tires, which were all about the same in tread wear. Took it to a shop, they reported and showed me that the ball joint on the lower control arm on the opposite (front right) side was busted. They replaced the lower control arm for ~$250-$300 with labor. New tire and alignment was around $150 bringing the total to $450. Only possible cause I can think of is a pothole I hit that was enough to give me a flat a while before that.
