CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.
Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.
Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

Obviously there is something defective. The suspension corroded away from the frame of the vehicle that is only 2013 and I bought the vehicle in 2014. Yes I live where there is snow, but that is not even a factor. previous vehicle owned was a Chevy Cavalier... I had that car for over 10 years and NEVER had a rust problem or any breakage from the frame. Nissan wants to not have a recall, when this is a matter of life and death. My situation could have been a lot worse if I was driving at a higher speed or on the highway. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I also have children who ride in this vehicle and I DO NOT feel safe at all now.
The car is sitting unable to be driven. The repair bill is over $1000. Supposedly it's not covered under warranty. I was not aware this was a problem until I did some internet research. Thankfully I have not had engine or any other trouble besides a front wheel bearing which cost over $500 to replace/repair. I did not even know I had 3 other recalls regarding transmission/hood latch/seat belt sensor. Nissan just doesn't want to admit whatever they have used is defective and its a failure on the vehicle maker. This is putting lives at risk. I don't even have the car paid off. Definitely considering a trade in. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE ANYMORE! Thank you for creating yet another PTSD trauma in my life when it could have been avoided had you made a better/safer vehicle.
