Car started misfiring randomly, wouldn't accelerate or started stalling while going downhill. Then stalled on the highway pretty close to home. Engine ran really rough until I got to the repair shop, cost to fix was $650. Had to replace the head gasket, all 4 spark plugs, and a dead ignition coil.
OMG, OMG, you would think I would learn my lesson and have done my homework. I purchased a 2013 Altima SL (gorgeous exterior thats it). Anyway, this site is 100% correct - when you see a 2013 Altima, run, don't even take one free. I test drove this car (and the check engine light was on when I test drove it - always listen to your 1st instinct - I shouldn't have bought it but my dad is supposedly good friends w/dealer), and anyway the engine light still comes on after he fixed it twice. The moral of this story is never ever ever purchase a 2013 Altima ever. I did have a 2013 Maxima. It was awesome, I loved it, but a 95yr old guy totaled it.
I mistakenly purchased this vehicle not knowing the many problems that I would face. The worst vehicle ever. The engine light came on and I took it to the dealership who told me that the vehicle is not worth the repairs. I was heartbroken because I didn't have any money to purchase a new car. Shortly after the transmission started slipping. The vehicle recently broke down on me. Now I am stuck with no vehicle to drive, negative equity and risk of bad credit. Stuck with a lemon!
Brand new vehicle not even 1 year bought and check engine goes on for reprogram of oxygen sensor while out of town for the holidays. At first was charged at the dealer out of state but then realized that it should have been covered by warranty when I returned home to my dealer. Had to deal with out-of-state dealer for 3 weeks before getting my money back.

A few days after picking up my vehicle from getting the check engine light fixed, the check engine light went on again. Didn't note anything major while driving but was just awful having to take back the vehicle when I had just picked it up literally 2-3 days before. The dealer kept my vehicle through the holidays and it took them 3 days to determine what was wrong with it. I was finally told that I needed a throttle chamber replaced. Was never told what the part was responsible for doing and why it wasn't found when they had it previously. Still not 2 years of owning the vehicle. Personally, too many issues with my 2013 Altima vehicle in less than 2 years and Nissan Consumer Affairs keeps washing their hands of any defect or lemon law. These things which I have experienced are not little or minor by no means and have endangered myself and my family, especially the incidents with the alternator and the MAS sensor. Need someone with common sense and a true feeling of caring for their customer's safety to replace my vehicle before something worse happens.
Almost 2 years of ownership and the check engine light went off again and this time again with loss of acceleration. I had just gotten on the freeway when my vehicle decided not to accelerate, got off immediately or as quick as my car would let me, but not before almost being rear ended by another vehicle. Then getting the vehicle down to the dealer was another ordeal and almost getting rear ended again during rush hour. Had to leave my car for a few days. When picked up was told it needed the MAS sensor replaced and reprogrammed.
CANNOT GET CAR INSPECTED. TOOK IT TO DEALER TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ENGINE LITE ON WITH ONLY THAT MANY MILES. TOLD IT WOULD COST ME 70 DOLLARS TO RUN A SCAN. TRIED TO HAVE IT DONE ON WARRANTY BECAUSE OF LOW MILLAGE, TOLD NOPE. SAID TO SERVICE WRITER WITH A SMILE MAY ALL SATIN'S DEAMONS HAVE THERE WAY ON THIS DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN MOTORS. AMEN
wasnt too terrible, felt like i noticed the engine running different. nissan did a great job helping me, they gave me a free loaner car for a couple days while parts came in and the fix was made. covered under warranty, but i would not want to foot the bill for something like this when it wasnt my fault.
The engine light keeps coming on. It's been to the dealer 6 times They reset the computer twice, then on the third trip they replaced the EVT control. Three weeks later the light was back on so they reset the computer. One week later the light was back on. Stopped at the dealer they couldn't get me in for two days,so another trip back in two days.This time for a EVT solenoid. Eight days later the the light was back on, called the dealer got a appt set up for 2 days after the light came on.The morning of the appt the light went off, called the dealer they said don't bring it in without the light on.
