CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.
Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.
Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

I went out to get some lunch today and when I started my car, the warning of Fuel Cap is Loose popped up. I turned the car off, opened the gas door, turned the cap to hear the "click," then restarted the car. The message is still there. I am thinking "what the heck?", opened the door again, got back out of my car, turned for two clicks and the stinking light is still on. Since I do not get more then 30 minutes for lunch, I put test put the car into gear and was able to move with the light on.
So then I called up the dealership. "Oh, you have to reset it." "Well, how do I do that?" "You have to press the menu button for a few seconds."
So back to my original question... Why did it come on? There is no evidence anybody tampered with the car. I had gotten gas back a week ago and it has not been on the whole time. So why?
Thanks for reading.
