CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.
Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.
Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

When I bought the Altima new, the USB connection worked fine for a little while. Then the Gremlins took control. It works sometimes but mostly it does not. I mainly use it to play my IPod {when I can} Sometimes it recognizes it, most times not. I plugged my iPhone into charge it and it showed iPod recognized. My iPod works in my wife's car and everything else I plug it into. My wife's iPod doesn't works in the Altima. I've used different cords but none worked. I know it's a small issue, but I paid for a car that didn't include Gremlins. It's annoying day to day, but a pain in the ass when I make the three hour trip I make monthly. Trying to use the radio is the pain in my ass. I'm going to chat with the Service Manager at the dealers again to see if they have a fix for the problem
