CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.
Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.
Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

My issue is in regards to a recall on the hood latch. In which has been recalled numerous of times. I went to the Nissan Dealer in Columbus OH to get my recall handled. However this hood latch had a malfunction as well which caused the hood to fly open while driving on the highway at high speeds. Nearly causing a deadly crash. This incident caused severe damage to my vehicle which caused it not drivable. The dealer has taken care of me on the aspects of fixing my vehicle as well as providing me a vehicle to drive momentarily. However this has been the third time the hood has flew open while driving. I am certain I am not the only one because I've noticed other complaint. My roof needs replaced as well as several other repairs needed and I am too nervous drive the vehicle considering what if this happens again and what would the outcome be. I personally feel as though if Nissan can't figure out the issue after a few recalls, then they need to recall the actual vehicles at this point.
