The problem speaks for itself. Hood paint peeling on a low mileage car. Simple unacceptable. Buyer beware.

My vehicle is a one owner. I had a small fender bender 6 months into ownership. That area was repaired and no issue with the paint job. On the paint that was manufactured; it is peeling, rusting, running up the hood. Bubbling up the paint on the handles, around the sun roof, etc. I have taken for paint job estimates and it runs into the several thousands just for the hood, roof, doors....ridiculous to drive a car for less than 4-5 years and it looks like a Hooptie.

Nissan refuses to take responsibility of their crappy materials. Corporate refuses to extend assistance for the many issues in my car. THEY SUCK -- will never own another nissan.

I started to notice a half dollar size spot on the hood on washing, which became larger and larger and soon there were others the size of dollar bills . There are about six now . There is another starting on the roof now.

On the hood there was a chip in the paint the size of a quarter, and over time the size got bigger and is very noticeable. Now there is a chip on the passenger door that is doing the same thing. Nissan need to do something quickly.

As much as we paid for the car the paint should not be peeling. I owned a Toyota for 10 years and it never had a problem with paint. Nissan should take care of this problem. I would never buy another Nissan or recommend one to anyone if they are not willing to step up and do the right thing. This is definitely a Nissan defect.

The dealership service representative was kind, and scheduled me for the paint work in a week's time at a reasonable price. Excluding the rental, we're looking at $100 plus tax. Quality of the workmanship to be determined.

Update from Dec 1, 2015: The paint job is holding up, but according to consumeraffairs.com, a Nissan Altima owner in Purcellville, VA experienced the exact same trunk quarter panel paint peeling. I've sent the dealership a certified return receipt requested letter nearly a month ago, and still no reply. This issue is manufacturer related and should be addressed.

The paint job on the car is peeling and in some places has began the rust I have gone to several paint shops to get an estimate on getting my car repainted and they all are welling to do it but are telling me on the other hand that this is manufacturer damage. Please fix, this is a sight for sore eyes!!!!!!!

After only 2 weeks, brand new Altima in "Alert Red" looses paint during it's first car wash. Dealer fixes it, and claims it stripped the whole bumper and repainted it, but less than 3 months later it happens again in a different spot. I did not spend $27,000 to have these sort of issues!

Back again to the dealer tomorrow, I want to RETURN the car, and walk away. I know that is not going to happen. How can this happen? There are Nissan Altimas all over the place, am I the first one this has happened to? These areas are about as big as a quarter. Apply water and you loose your paint.
