CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2005 Nissan Altima has two fairly significant problems with the floor pan rusting through & motor mounts breaking.
Altima owners report that up to a basketball-size hole develops under the floor mats where the floor pan metal rusts through. Average repair cost is over $1,000.
The broken motor mounts are less of a problem - they break at ~75,000 miles average & it's $400 to fix. Still, motor mounts should not break!

I complained a few times to Nissan about the center shift console cover not staying in place. It has plastic tabs on the side that do not engage properly and hold the cover down. On any day, the cover magically lifts up out of the area that it snaps in to and looks like it is just sitting on top of the shift cover. To fix it? You have to push it back down into place. It happened EVERYDAY that I owned the car. They tried to fix it...said they did...then of course it still did the same thing. NISSAN should be ashamed over their product. If this were Japan, their employees would have stayed until they fixed the part properly instead of sending it to the back for 1/2 hour and saying it was fixed and it wasn't. Shame on you Nissan.
