CarComplaints.com Notes: Here's a disturbing trend for the 2002 Nissan Altima: the engine starts burning oil like crazy, the catalytic converter goes bad, the head gasket blows and eventually the entire engine needs replacement. Sound familiar? Like a script from a horror film, these Altimas seem doomed to fail around 95k miles.
When using automatic window switch, window goes all the way up to a closed position, and then immediately comes back down again ~3 inches. Only way to close window completely is to manually nudge the switch until window shuts or to hold the switch until you hear a very quiet click.
this car has been recalled 6 times now after the warranty is up the window does not close it stays open about 3 inches you have to hold button open door then take key out real pain

Car was taken to World Car Nissan-Hyundai (San Antonio, TX), where the auto window feature was re-programmed.
This is second time we've had the problem of the driver's side window not staying shut after raising it with the automatic switch. It comes to a closed position, but then pops back again by about 3 inches. You have to manually nudge the window up until it closes. Last time, the dealership had to reprogram the auto window feature. We haven't taken it back in (yet) due to the other problems we've had that were never fixed successfully (suspension, cooling system). I think we have a lemon, folks.
