This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Fuel filler problem: The vehicle (1999 Nissan Altima) will only take a small amount of fuel at a time (length of filler neck) and then pump shuts off as the fuel overflows and drains into tank. It is also impossible to completely fill the tank; it only wants to holds approximately 3/4 of its capacity. This is not only annoying, but a safety concern because fuel spills onto the vehicle and ground since there is no fuel filler butterfly valve at the top of the neck.
