After eating a burger with my wife, I unlocked my car got in and saw that the smart key light was on. I attempted to start the car, and it would even go to ACC. I was like WTH???

It never rains in Vegas, but when it does it pours, it was raining when i ran to wal-mart to get new battery for my smart key to see if it was the key, and NOTHING!. At this point i was just getting mad as hell. I tried the FOB key and inserted it and the car basically didn't recognize the key anymore. I got a ride to pick my spare key and same thing. I had to call and get it towed to my house. I tried everything at home, resetting the battery, keys, and still nothing. I called a few Nissan dealerships and spoke with the service techs and they stated that it was very common however there was no recall on those so it was gonna be somewhat expensive to repair. I had the car towed to the Nissan dealership and since its it was New Years Eve, they told me they wont look in to it until 01/02/2017. I spoke with the service associate, he stated that steer lock is common to go off on these vehicles and it could be repaired in a day or so. However, i already know it's gonna run me over $1000.00 to fix it. I am truly upset and disappointed of how Nissan can't call this a recall. I really hope i can get reimbursement for what i pay for this repair.

Stranded in Houston, I parked my car at the bank, went inside, came out tried to start the car. It wouldn't say one word, only "I am locked and you can't start me... call a tow truck to take me to the dealer" Now I can't get any information from them. Real upset right now.

370Z Sport 3.7L V6

Car blocked tight garage entrances with steering locked solid..

I removed the lock, steered and pushed the car into a garage.

Nissan dealership (who subsequently were proved to have sold me a 2010 made car, found to be mid.2009) just "difficult". Locks known to be modified and in short supply.

Dealer wanted €1477. Nissan not interested. I "should not have removed the lock".

I drilled open the sealed lock and repaired it so I could use the car. The circuit board was dated 17/04/2007 for a GTR "D52E" now known to have recalled locks.

The locks are made by Huf Hulsbeck and Furst (Germany and USA) who do not help.
